About Gloria Kohl
"Working with Gloria helped me to gain so much insight into how I relate to myself, my children and my husband. She has a true understanding of the intricacies of human relationships, and provided such thoughtful guidance and wisdom." MM
I believe all clients deserve to be treated based on what is unique and special to them and their situation. Because I have not only training, but also real interest in and compassion for my clients, people who work with me are able to experience the freedom to be exactly who they are, right now. From that starting point and in an environment of absolute acceptance, clients move towards who they want to become.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who is experienced in both private practice doing psychotherapy work with individuals, couples and groups, as well as working in an inpatient psychiatric facility.
Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, I spent 20 years guiding teams large and small in the sale and delivery of complex technology solutions. I was a trusted advisor to clients and a mentor to my teams. Over time, I was proud of the reputation I had gained for kindness, knowledge and problem solving.
Today, I use both my corporate and my clinical skills to help clients understand themselves and meet the daily challenges of living and working in this demanding world, while at the same time creating and maintaining important intimate relationships. I am trained in many therapeutic modalities and believe there is neither one tool that fits all nor one tool that always works.

“Gloria has been a wonderful help to my well being and a guide in moving me from darkness to light. Truly, she has helped me with my family relations and I feel better about my own self worth.” ~ Female, 40s.
“I've been depressed and doubting and questioning myself for years. I've stopped thanks to seeing you. It sounds corny but I feel like a new person. My partner sees the difference and doesn't want me to stop seeing you. I don't want to stop seeing you either!” ~ Rex D.
“Gloria has a rare blend of wisdom, directness, no-nonsense pragmatism, humor, gentleness and sincere compassion. I felt a true sense of connection and understanding from her very early on, and it was clear that she genuinely cared about me. She is a thoughtful and present listener and asked questions that helped me to understand myself better. And no-matter what I was going through, she always managed to make me laugh. Working with Gloria helped me to gain so much insight into how I relate to myself, my children and my husband. She has a true understanding of the intricacies of human relationships, and provided such thoughtful guidance and wisdom. In every session she always had a way of simplifying whatever I was struggling with so that circumstances that felt overwhelming became manageable. And I always left her office with new clarity about feelings that before felt messy and undefined. After our sessions I often took notes on the ideas she shared with me, so that I could revisit them later when I needed to see things again in a new way. My time working with Gloria had a big impact on my life, and I have so much gratitude for how she shared everything she had to give every time we were together. She truly helped me to become a stronger, more confident person with a sense of hopefulness that I had not felt in a long time.” M.M.
“I contacted Gloria because her profile looked like she'd have a more personal approach than the other therapist I saw. I was right. We clicked right away and I knew she "got" where I was coming from. I thought I was headed for couples counseling but with Gloria's help I'm able to see my role in my relationship and so far I'm getting along so much better with my partner. I never realized how much my family affected me growing up or why I had a hard time in relationships. Thanks to Gloria I'm so much better. She always says it was me who did the work but I never would have gotten here without her.” ~ Dave B.
“When I was in a career quandary, I reached out to Gloria and I'm so glad I did. She very quickly helped me align my goals and my skills, helped me set my sights realistically and cleared up much uncertainty. I'm now a true believer in career and life coaching.” ~ Marsha K.
“My husband and I both want to thank you. We got past our anger, for the most part anyway. With your guidance, we're talking to each other like we used to when we first got together. It's amazing. We really have hope again.” ~ L.D.
“Gloria got right to the point, called me on my bullshit, gave me permission to move on from guilt and shame from past experiences, and helped me focus on what I can be doing right now to improve my situation.” ~ K.J.
