Career & Life Counseling

“When I was in a career quandary, I reached out to Gloria and I'm so glad I did.  She very quickly helped me align my goals and my skills, helped me set my sights realistically and cleared up much uncertainty.  I'm now a true believer in career and life coaching.” ~ Marsha K.

Career and Life Counseling

Career and life coaching are means to very specific ends. In the domain of career coaching, you may need better interviewing skills, you may need to role play on how to work better with your boss to keep your job or to move ahead in a company. Perhaps you want to change careers and need help laying out the plan. My work with you will either suggest new ways to achieve your goals and to practice them, or help you figure out what's getting in the way of reaching your goals. If it’s the latter, I’ll use the approach that is most applicable to you in order to help you change unwanted behaviors, and we will practice together those behaviors you want to apply to your career.

Life coaching also has concrete ends to achieve. For example: maybe you’d like to exercise more, give up sugar, make new friends, be more social, sleep more or less, etc. Life coaching is usually about breaking unwanted habits and replacing them with new behaviors. Unless there are complicated histories involved, life coaching and career coaching outcomes can often be achieved in six to eight sessions.
